Beauty Thru Radiation!

In December Asbury Underground CEO Pat Schiavino invited Joe to organize an exhibit of his Day-Glo, found-object "trash art" work for art629 Gallery's holiday show. He gave Joe a door key, a check for 25 black light spotlights, a very high ladder, and a two-week window while he vacationed to ready the gallery for its first black light art show -- and possibly the city's. The resultant "Beauty Thru Radiation" Black Light Art by Joe Harvard with Works by Mark Davis show collected a dozen of Mark's Day-Glo work, principally his signature 'record art' pieces, and 130 of Joe's in a wide variety of techniques and materials. It used 30 UV spotlights, 40 feet of UV florescent tube, 16 feet of LED strip, and a dozen of the same hand held, battery powered UV lights which are used for night tours in the gARTen.

While each artist sold work at the exhibit, the real success was the popularity of the black light exhibit, as people were drawn in from the street by the purple glow.
