Free Music & Art: gARTen pARTy!

 

We have participated in every Asbury Underground since the June, 2015 event, and supplied art for indoor "guerrilla stages" at both of the Light of Day: Winterfest Downtown events, when January weather made it unfeasible to use the gARTen's tent stage. In fact we are proud to say that one of our gARTen @ 713 Cookman pieces, "Time Tunnel", was used as the event logo on posters and banners for AU9. The gARTen has also held events in conjunction with Parlor Gallery show openings, in June and August, 2017, and we look forward to doing more. Among other plans for summer, 2017 the gARTen will be taking a road trip to Art All Night, 2017, to spend 24 hours creating a gARTen outside historic Roebling Wire Works., accompanied by an all-star review of popular Asbury Underground musical acts hosted by Doctor Danger.

Our weekend Curators Mark Davis and Joe Harvard are both musicians, as well as visual artists. On Saturdays Joe brings his guitar and some electronics, and on Sundays Mark brings hand drums and a bubble sax and lots of fun stuff kids can enjoy.
